Worth knowing

Attestation and apostille are not the same service. General attestation carries no government fee at all; the apostille costs ₹50. Most sites in this market do not distinguish the two, which is one reason the quoted "government fee" varies so wildly across them.

Source: mea.gov.in. Last verified 30 June 2026. Exactly one competitor of eighteen publishes this breakdown accurately — and stops there, omitting its own service fee, so a customer still cannot work out a total. The next section is the part that is missing everywhere else.

We publish processing time separately from courier transit because they are different things and only one of them is under anyone's control. Most of this market publishes a single door-to-door figure, and the published range across competitors runs from "1–2 working days" to "12–15 days" — with at least one site contradicting itself inside a single page.

The reason we can commit to 3–7 working days is the SDM route. The State Home Department alternative runs 10–20+ days, and no amount of effort on our side compresses it. Where a destination or receiving institution specifically requires Home Department attestation, we tell you before you pay rather than quietly missing the date. More on SDM vs Home Department.

Why This Page Is Unusual

Why Apostille Prices Are Usually Hidden

Of eighteen apostille providers competing on these searches, four publish any rupee figure at all on the page that ranks. One publishes the government's fee schedule accurately and stops before its own charges. Another built a genuinely good price calculator and put an email form in front of the answer — on searches where the entire intent is to find out what something costs.

The commercial logic is not mysterious. A hidden price means a conversation, a conversation means a chance to sell, and a quote given individually can be adjusted to what the buyer seems able to pay. We would rather publish one number and stand behind it. If our price is higher than someone else's, you can see that immediately and decide — that seems a fair trade for not having to hand over your phone number to find out what a birth certificate apostille costs.

It also means the ₹1,957 we charge sits in plain view next to the ₹143 the government takes. That gap is our margin, and disclosing it is the point rather than an oversight.

FAQ

Apostille Charges — Common Questions

Is ₹50 really the government fee for an apostille in India?

Yes. The Ministry of External Affairs charges ₹50 per document for the apostille itself, published on mea.gov.in. Alongside it there is a ₹84 per-document collection fee paid to the authorised channel and ₹3 per page for scanning. For a typical single-page document with a passport copy that comes to about ₹143.

Why do agencies charge more than the government fee?

Because the government fee only covers the apostille sticker. What sits between you and it is the SDM pre-authentication, notarisation where the document needs it, deposit through an MEA-authorised collection channel, document handling and the return of your original. Our service fee for all of that is ₹1,957, and we publish it next to the ₹143 rather than folding both into one number you cannot check.

Is SDM attestation cheaper than the State Home Department?

The published government charges are not the deciding factor — the difference that matters is time. SDM takes 3–7 working days and the State Home Department 10–20+. We route through the SDM by default and charge the same either way; if your destination specifically requires Home Department attestation we will tell you before you pay.

Do I have to pay separately for scanning?

No. The ₹3 per page scanning charge is already inside the ₹2,100, along with the rest of the government fees. Our price does not change with page count — a three-page document costs the same ₹2,100 as a one-page document.

Do you charge extra for courier?

Courier is charged at what it actually costs and quoted before you pay. It is not marked up and it is not bundled into the headline price, because international rates vary too much by destination for a single bundled figure to be honest. Doorstep collection in Hyderabad is included.

What happens if my document is rejected?

We check your document before you courier anything, which is when almost all rejections are caught — hospital-issued birth certificates, missing court seals, employer letters without a letterhead. If something is wrong we tell you before you have paid for processing. If a document is rejected after submission for a reason we should have caught, we do not charge you twice to fix it.

Is there a discount for multiple documents?

The per-document price is the same, but courier is charged per order rather than per document, so sending three documents together costs less than three separate orders. Tell us the full list on WhatsApp and we will give you the combined total before you send anything.
